Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first single was released with the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she began gaining notoriety. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw her release additional music on the internet including Bound. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna references. The news was released on the 8th of December that she had signed with Dreamville Records. In the record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his single Change in 2017 and also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video followed by a music video in September. In November, she dropped two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured along with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. On February 20, 2019 a music video was released for the song. It already has more than 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. In December 2018, she performed as a supporting act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
